Life moves pretty fast, and if you're not careful, you could miss out on a lot that life has to offer. Just think and ask this to yourself... "What will I have to say about my life when I'm lying on my death-bed?" Will you have regrets of things you wish you accomplished or even just tried, but never did?
In order to have a more fulfilling spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial life, you need to hold yourself accountable. The best way to do this is to set goals and live each day achieving more. You see, if you just live life by the same routine everyday, what have you accomplished? If you keep putting off things and live life procrastinating, where are you going in life? If you keep making excuses, what have you experienced?
Here are my tips for goal setting based on what I've learned and applied from my mentor:
1. Look to your next month and set a goal for that month.
2. Set a goal for each week that will ultimately get you to accomplish your goal for the month.

Basically, you're looking to begin the month with the end in mind.
The month will consist of the following:
1 big goal for the month
4 small goals (1 per week)
Total 5 goals per month

Write down your goals in two places in order to help remind yourself:
1. a journal/diary/planner (something that you keep with you throughout the day)
2. post your goals on a mirror or refrigerator (someplace where you look everyday)

Goal Setting and Achieving Goals takes practice. It is a skill that you can actually improve on over time. After setting monthly goals, you'll soon be able to set yearly goals and go even farther out into the future. Goal Setting exercises your mind and trains it to create plans.

Make sure your goals are achievable. Start with small goals that are on the "easy" side and work your way up. You'll find that your life will be more fulfilling and one day you will accomplish things you never thought you could.

That's all for now... go start your journey today.

All your points are absolutely right. Break it down into pieces and work on it. One way to begin your goal setting is to have clarity. You can never get to where you want to be if you dont know what you want. Never give up attitude should also be part of your mentality. Re-wrting your goals is common. You will hit a lot of obstables on your way there but thats all part of it. So dont get disappointed if you miss out a step. PIck yourself up and do it again. As long as you have one big motivation to get there (i.e. a big house in 5 years), this will release some positive energy and everything you think about will manifest towards your goal.

I hope Philippine education should put more emphasis on this subject. If this can be taught at an early age, Filipinos will never leave to work or live abroad away from their families.
